Supporting Contemporary Playwrights and Theaters
The Anna L. Weissberger Foundation, a patron of theater arts since the 1980s, supports contemporary playwrights, productions, and not-for-profit theaters.

Established by L. Arnold Weissberger (1907-1981), an entertainment attorney with an all-star roster of clients, the foundation has celebrated and honored excellence in playwriting for over 25 years. Through a partnership with the Williamstown Theatre Festival, it funds the annual L. Arnold Weissberger New Play Award and the Jay S. Harris Commission, which support emerging playwrights.

In 2024, the foundation expanded its mission to support exciting new works in and around New York City through awards, grants, and donations to not-for-profit theaters.
