Supporting Contemporary Playwrights and Theaters

The Anna L. Weissberger Foundation, a patron of theater arts since the 1980s, supports contemporary playwrights, productions, and not-for-profit theaters.

Established by L. Arnold Weissberger (1907-1981), an entertainment attorney with an all-star roster of clients, the foundation has celebrated and honored excellence in playwriting for over 25 years with the annual Weissberger/Harris Award for new plays. The Award is administered by Playwrights Horizons.

The foundation-a 501(c)(3) entity-also supports exciting new works in and around New York City through awards, grants, and donations to not-for-profit theaters and artists.
